The International Center for Research and Postgraduate Training in  Mathematics under the auspices of UNESCO, was established under the Decree 307/QD-VHL and Decision on Organization and Operation 308/QD-VHL, dated March 5, 2018 of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.

The center has the following main functions:

• To carry out Math researches and education at international standards;
• To train talents, to improve the professional level of Mathematics for Vietnamese and people of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations as well as those of surrounding areas and Africa;
• To contribute to building a community of  highly qualified lecturers, researchers and peoples, who applying mathematics in other disciplines
• To establish an international center to build up potentials in basic science through organizing schools, conferences and workshops,
• To support research activities organized in the Asia-Pacific and Africa regions, where math is not really developed.
